Experience the vibrant and friendly Ghanaian culture first hand on BUNAC’s Volunteer Ghana programme.

Become fully immersed in the community, living with a host family and working alongside the local people on worthwhile community volunteering projects in rural Ghana.

Projects include working with children in orphanages, teaching English, HIV/AIDS awareness, care work and community development. Your placement will be allocated according to your personal skills and experiences, ensuring that you both make a valid contribution and work in a project which suits you.

You’ll travel to Ghana with a group of volunteers and spend your first week doing a cultural orientation in Accra. During the weekends, volunteers often explore other areas of this traveller-friendly West African country.

As a non-profit organisation, BUNAC’s primary concern is to ensure you have a worthwhile volunteering experience. We’re proud of the fact that on average, 70% of the programme cost goes to the developing world. Accommodation, food, and full support from BUNAC and our local partners in Ghana is included in the programme cost.

With monthly departures and projects lasting from 2 months upwards, this is an ideal gap year, career-break or summer holiday opportunity.

Get off the beaten track, experience a different culture and make a difference on Volunteer Ghana.
