Summer resort jobs (Fruit Picking Jobs, Agricultural Work, Gardening & Grounds Work)
From April and early May for 6 weeks - 6 months

Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, UK farms have a shortage of seasonal labour to help pick and pack fruit and vegetables. We are encouraging workers to apply for these paid positions on local farms across the UK.

At present the vast majority of the roles we have will be starting on UK farms from the end of April and early May onwards – harvesting crops on placements from 6 weeks to 6 months, all over the UK. Working on farms can be tough – it can be hard work, long hours, early starts, in sometimes difficult weather conditions. There are also roles on key farms in the next fortnight harvesting asparagus, harvesting beans and preparing strawberry and raspberry plants. We also need workers with additional skills – such as tractor drivers and those able to operate heavy machinery.

Workers will be at least paid minimum wage and many farms pay National Living Wage or more, depending on how much fruit and/or vegetables they harvest, and the role they do on the farm. All roles offered through Concordia, HOPS and Fruitful come with training, which can last up to three weeks to give them the best chance of maximising their income whilst on a farm placement. They will be paid whilst they complete this training. As the sector’s alliance of ethical providers, every job with Concordia, Fruitful and HOPS comes with free insurance for all workers which includes travel, health and dental cover.

It’s a simple form with a few basic details. All applicants will then be sent a link to our online video interview platform – again super easy to use and talks you through the steps. Once we have received the video interview and the applicant is successful we can match them with a role on a UK farm based on their skills and preferences. This matched roles will be sent to them along with information on the farm and it’s amenities. At this point applicants decide if they want to take up the position – and accept the roles by email.

Successful applicants can be assured that all farms, many of which are open fields, are following the correct procedures around safe working conditions during the Coronavirus outbreak. Housing is always provided although participants do not have to take it up.
